A little bit about me...
As unusual as it sounds, I consider myself an 'unplanned artist'. I have always been creative and drawing came easy. I come from a family of gifted painters yet I never sought to follow an art career. My love for the outdoors took me on a career path in the environment and recreation fields with "a bit of drawing on the side". The natural environment is something I am passionate about and as such, it will always influence my work. I live and work in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Primarily self taught, most of my illustrative work has been done in ink and water colour. My drawings have appeared in books such as Stein Valley Wilderness Guidebook and Attracting Backyard Wildlife. I have also done illustration work for numerous natural history booklets and interpretative signs throughout parks in BC. My larger projects have included a series of colour illustrations for a community based Young Explorers Guide and an interactive museum display on urban environments.
I ventured into painting by chance...it would seem like a natural progression from illustration work, however it was solely based on a rather fascinating conversation with a psychic. Never say never! Since finding my comfort with a brush, I am now an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a signature member of Artists for Conservation.
